Tallinn makes one excellent race-day sighting easy and three uncertain moves tempting. Build the plan from the final 2026 map, realistic transfer time, and a reunion that does not depend on the finish chute.

The reliable family plan stays central
Falgi Road hosts both start and finish. A family can watch the public start area, spend the middle of the morning near Old Town, and return with enough margin for the predicted finish.
This plan trades an extra course sighting for fewer closures, less weather exposure, and a calmer child. That is usually a good trade.
- Stay outside the start corridor and course surface.
- Return before the runner's predicted time, not at it.
- Use an exact post-finish meetup away from moving crowds.
Use the atlas as a filter, not permission
The reference geography identifies Kalamaja and Stroomi as potentially useful sighting areas based on the organizer's detailed prior route description. It does not guarantee the 2026 line, crossing locations, or public-transport path.
When the final map arrives, choose a stop on the public side of the course and test the route back to Toompea against race diversions. If the move is unclear, skip it.
- Spectators are explicitly prohibited from entering the course.
- Save final maps and timetables offline.
- Never promise the runner a sighting you may abandon.
Time from the runner's start crossing
TripRace estimates sightings from elapsed pace after the runner crosses the start, not from the 09:00 gun. Start groups and density can shift the actual clock time.
Use official tracking when released, but pair it with the agreed pace and last known split. Tracking is evidence, not teleportation; leave the viewing point before the map says the runner is underneath you.
- Carry a battery pack and weatherproof sign.
- Wear shoes suitable for a long standing-and-walking day.
- Do not block local residents, cycleways, marshals, or aid stations.
Ready-made plans
Same place, two important moments
FamilyWith children, Tallinn's shared Falgi Road start and finish is an advantage. See the departure from a permitted public area, spend the middle of the morning in or near Old Town, then return early for the finish.
Mile 0
Falgi Road start area
Walk from Old Town or Freedom Square
Stay outside the controlled corridor, follow marshal instructions, and do not bring a stroller onto the course. The start corridor opens 30 minutes before 09:00.
Mile 26.2
Falgi Road finish approach
Walk back before the predicted finish
Return with margin for barriers and crowd controls. The runner continues through the finish service area and may use the bib-only Marathon Lounge before reunion.
Meetup: Name one hotel lobby or exact landmark on the Freedom Square side. Do not use 'at the finish' as the plan, and give the runner time to clear the corridor.
One coastal sighting, then the city finish
Adult support crewA mobile adult can use the reference course geography for an early or coastal sighting, then return to Toompea. The final 2026 map and race-day diversions decide whether the move is actually viable.
Mile 4.5
Kalamaja reference corridor
Walk via Balti Jaam; confirm the final route
Use the organizer's final map to choose the public side of the road. Never stand on the course, and do not assume every crossing remains open.
Mile 8.5
Stroomi Beach Park reference
Bus or tram plus walking; verify diversions
The coastal park is part of the organizer-described reference geography, not a guaranteed 2026 marker. Skip this move if the final map or travel time is unclear.
Mile 26.2
Falgi Road finish approach
Return to the center with a large buffer
Arrive before the predicted finish, expect pedestrian controls, and let the runner clear the finish chute before attempting contact.
Meetup: Set an exact post-finish point away from the moving chute—ideally the hotel or a named Freedom Square edge—and save it offline.

The organizer has confirmed the September 11–13, 2026 weekend, Sunday 09:00 marathon, Falgi Road start and finish, Freedom Square race office and expo hours, entry pricing, and participant services. The organizer calls every 2026 route single-lap and fast-profiled, but TripRace did not find a downloadable 2026 GPX or a published elevation total on August 24. The atlas therefore uses clearly labeled reference geography from the organizer's official 2025 course map and description; the final 2026 map and participant instructions always override it.
