Tallinn Marathon · September 2026

Where to stay

There is no single best Tallinn Marathon hotel. The right base is the one that removes your hardest transfer: Falgi Road, the family weekend, a coastal viewing plan, a ferry arrival, or the room-rate spike.

Closest to start, finish and expo

Falgi Road and Freedom Square solve nearly the entire race system on foot. Palace Hotel Tallinn is the clearest named example because its official location is directly by Freedom Square; the strongest benefit is not luxury but fewer moving parts.

Check noise, breakfast hours, room orientation, cancellation, and the exact route around barriers. A close pin does not guarantee the preferred entrance stays accessible during event setup.

  • Best for runners prioritizing start and post-finish simplicity.
  • Strong for a fixed reunion away from the finish chute.
  • Likely to command a race-week premium.

Best shared trip for family and spectators

Old Town and Nunne place companions inside the part of Tallinn they came to see while keeping the race hub walkable. Viru adds modern shops, transit options, and published family-room inventory at hotels such as Nordic Hotel Forum.

Families should inspect room occupancy and steps, not just neighborhood appeal. Cobblestones, narrow entrances, and historic layouts can change the practical experience with a stroller or tired child.

  • Nunne: atmosphere, Balti Jaam, and a short race-hub walk.
  • Viru: modern rooms and easier all-weather errands.
  • Telliskivi: local food and creative-district energy.

Compare value near Rotermann and the port

Citybox Tallinn and Hestia Hotel Europa are useful named comparisons for travelers arriving by ferry or avoiding the tightest Old Town room market. They do not automatically cost less, so compare the whole stay rather than a headline nightly rate.

The extra walk back from Falgi Road matters after 42.2 km, especially in wind or rain. If the savings are small, the race-first base may be the better value.

  • Search exact marathon dates, not a generic weekend.
  • Prefer refundable rates while travel details can move.
  • TripRace may earn a commission from eligible Stay22 bookings at no added cost to you.

Edition status

The organizer has confirmed the September 11–13, 2026 weekend, Sunday 09:00 marathon, Falgi Road start and finish, Freedom Square race office and expo hours, entry pricing, and participant services. The organizer calls every 2026 route single-lap and fast-profiled, but TripRace did not find a downloadable 2026 GPX or a published elevation total on August 24. The atlas therefore uses clearly labeled reference geography from the organizer's official 2025 course map and description; the final 2026 map and participant instructions always override it.

Start, finish + expo

Palace Hotel Tallinn

The hotel sits directly by Freedom Square, putting the race office, expo, gear check, and Falgi Road start-finish geography into one compact plan.

Watch: Confirm room orientation, breakfast timing, and refundable terms; proximity can mean event noise and premium race-week rates.

Old Town + family trip

Nunne Boutique Hotel

A 74-room hotel beside Tallinn's city wall gives companions a real Old Town stay while keeping Falgi Road and Balti Jaam walkable.

Watch: Check the exact room category and step-free route if traveling with children, luggage, or limited mobility.

Family + city access

Nordic Hotel Forum

The Viru Square location sits on the Old Town edge, and the hotel publishes family-room options for a crew that needs more than a runner-only room.

Watch: A family room can still sell out; verify occupancy, beds, breakfast hours, and cancellation rules on the selected rate.

Budget + ferry arrival

Citybox Tallinn

A modern, lower-service hotel near the port and Rotermann with guest kitchen and laundry facilities can work for self-sufficient runners comparing central prices.

Watch: The race hub is farther on foot than Old Town choices; compare the total stay and do not assume race-day transit will erase the difference.

Port + spacious-room comparison

Hestia Hotel Europa

A Paadi Street waterfront base is practical for ferry travelers and families who value larger-room comparisons near Rotermann.

Watch: Wind and the post-finish walk matter. Verify the current room, breakfast, and cancellation terms rather than choosing on map distance alone.
